Last week, we said a final good-bye to our graduating eighth graders. On Wednesday night, the 7th grade parents and students prepared and served a wonderful dinner to the graduates and their parents. We began Thursday’s Graduation Day with our annual “Affirmations” in the church. Every 8th student was recognized individually by the middle school teachers for his/her unique gifts and talents. Then, every class thanked them for their leadership and sent them off with good wishes. It was beautiful, tearful and a touching tribute to a wonderful class!
The graduation Mass and ceremony went very well. In addition to diplomas, awards and scholarships were announced. Many congratulations to the Class of 2019!
Now, it is on to Kindergarten graduation this coming Thursday, June 13th at 10:30am in Banchero Hall. As fast as time seems to fly, in a snap, we will be celebrating them at their 8th grade graduation!
Please join us for our final school Mass of the year at 8:45am on Friday, June 14th. At the conclusion of Mass, we will be recognizing Ron Ryan and Fr. Tony Bawyn for their years of service to our parish and school. Both of them will certainly be missed!
We will also welcome students to their grade level for next fall before they return to their classrooms to receive their report cards. If you have an incoming PreK student, they are encouraged to join the fun. Mrs. Mastobattista will be welcoming them too. Just send them to the area near the choir where she will be standing.
Following dismissal, you are welcome and encouraged to bring your child/ren to Banchero Hall where the School Commission and Parent Association will be hosting a good-bye reception for Ron and Fr. Tony. Refreshments will be served and students and parents will have a chance to speak to both Mr. Ryan and Fr. Tony before they leave us at the end of June.
If you have not already done so, please fill out the End of the Year Survey. We are always looking for ways to improve our program and we value your input.
I truly don’t know where this year has gone. It has been a pleasure working with your children each and every day and we will all miss them over the next few months. On behalf of the faculty and staff, we hope you and your family have a fun-filled, relaxing and safe summer.
We’ll see you on September 3rd.
