On Friday, the eighth grade class spent the morning in Dr. John Hanson’s chemistry lab at The University of Puget Sound. They conducted multiple experiments to learn about and control rates of reaction. They determined unknown gases based on molar mass and then explored the reaction of different gases to a flame. They had a tour of all the cool science displays in the science building and finished with a lunch in the school cafeteria. Best of all they walked away with their own periodic table!
As the end of January draws near, much is happening in the school. We’ve recently sent the high school applications for our 8th graders as they prepare to plan for the next chapter in their lives. And this Thursday, we have our PreKindergarten and Kindergarten Information Night as we prepare to welcome some future graduates into our school in the fall. As always, this year is flying by!
If you know someone who is interested in enrolling a child in our PreK and/or Kindergarten, please encourage them to attend the Information Night at 7:00pm on Thursday evening in Banchero Hall. In addition to a general overview, Mrs. Mastrobattista, and Mrs. Thole, along with Mrs. Peterson and Ms. Lamb will be on hand to share information about their specific programs. PreK and Kindergarten registration packets will be available for pick-up that evening.
We have plenty of activities planned for Catholic Schools’ Week, being held this year from Sunday, January 27h – Friday, February 1st. We begin with our Catholic Schools’ Week Mass at 10:00am on Sunday. Any student who wears their uniform to Mass can stop by their classroom during Open House for a free dress pass. And on Monday morning at our Prayer Assembly we honor you…our parents, for all you do to help us achieve so much. Stop by the lobby of Banchero Hall beginning at 8:10am to grab a “Thanks a Latte”. Baristas will be on hand to customize your order. Then join us for our Prayer Assembly as we celebrate you, our parents.
Catholic Schools Week is always fun-filled, with days devoted to celebrating those who make St. Anne School successful. From parents, parishioners and grandparents, to the Queen Anne community and our students, we appreciate the efforts put forth by all.
Have a great week.
