Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend our Learning Celebration last Wednesday. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive with many parents expressing how proud they were of the presentations given by their child/ren as they shared their year-long portfolios. The Spanish Fiesta, prepared and served by Senora McNamara and the middle school students, was a huge success, raising over $500 for Colegio Independencia, a school in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico. It was a great day all around!
Please join us this coming Thursday, May 24th at 1:15pm in Banchero Hall for our annual Talent Show, “A Feast of Gifts”. You won’t want to miss the wonderful singing, dancing, musical, and gymnastic routines by our students. Everyone is asked to bring one can of food to be donated to a local food bank as admission to the show.
Last Wednesday evening we had our final School Commission meeting of the year. It gave us a chance to say thank you and good-bye to members whose terms are expiring and to welcome our new members. Please join me in thanking Sasha Muir Downer (chair) who has been instrumental in updating our communications messaging through the work of our Communications Task Force; Nicole McDonagh, who helped coordinate the creation of our new website and Anders Brown, who chaired the Programs Task Force for our Strategic Plan. They have each put a great deal of effort into improving our school and we can’t thank them enough for all they have done.
New members to the School Commission who are beginning three-year terms are Guy Weismantel, father of Tristian 3rd grade and Kristen Glenn, mother of Katie, 5th grade. I am also pleased to welcome and announce our new Parent Association chair, Alitha Regalia, mother of Sofia: 2nd grade, Michael: K, and Nathan: PreK. The leadership of these three will be invaluable, especially as we enter the final phase of our Accreditation process, with our site visit scheduled for November.
Thank you to those of you who have fulfilled your Annual Fund pledge for the 2017-18 school year. All pledges are due by May 31st. To date, we have received $78,087 from our current parents and outstanding pledges total $24,090. These funds are crucial to next year’s operating budget and help keep the cost of tuition down. Please get your payment in to the Development Office. If you have any questions, please contact Monica Flora
With this year quickly coming to an end we are busy planning for next year. I am very pleased to announce that we have auction chairs in place for 2019! Please join me in thanking, Natasha Ehrlich, Kris Lund, Kristi Street and Alison DeGregorio, for stepping up to head this annual event. The theme they have chosen is “Hollywood Nights”. Save the date – Our St. Anne “Stars” will be out on March 29th and 30th 2019!
Just a reminder that next Monday, May 28th we have no school in honor of Memorial Day. We take this day to remember soldiers and their families who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Please take a moment to remember them in your prayers.
Have a great week!
