Dear Families:
Yesterday, redeeming their winning bid from last spring’s auction, Dominic (8th grade), Joey (7th grade) and Jack (5th grade) Giuzio took over the school as Principals for the Day. They began their day distributing birthday pencils at our Monday morning Prayer Assembly followed by declaring this Thursday, November 7th as a free dress day (Friday, November 8th is a ‘Fall Colors” Spirit non-uniform dress day). They helped announce the final figures raised by students at our Move-a-thon ($46,636!) and spent the remainder of their day visiting classrooms, monitoring recesses, enjoying pizza and having “meetings” with select students.
Our Five-Year Strategic Plan Town Hall meeting is tomorrow night! Don’t miss this opportunity to voice your opinion and give input on the future direction of our school. We will have three listening sessions where you can share ideas about our curricular programs, extra-curriculars, stewardship learning, facilities, teacher compensation, and effective use of technology. All input is welcome! Please join us at 6:30pm in Banchero Hall. Free dress passes will be given to participants for all students in their family. We promise to have you on your way by 8:30pm
Last Friday, we ended our week of Halloween excitement with the entire school celebrating the feast of All Saints’ Day. It was a beautiful Mass with the third graders participating as readers, greeters, gift bearers and singers. They did a wonderful job and no one would have guessed that the witches, cats, princesses and various other characters, left their tired eyes behind and became mature, reverent student participants on this Holy Day. We are so proud of them and all of our students. We were very impressed with the behavior and respect shown by all at the Mass.
Congratulations to the following students who spent last Saturday morning competing in the 46th annual Bishop Blanchet Mathematics contest:
Hattie Leonard Yacob Melaku Yared Melaku
Elliott Muska Teddy Pehl Natalia Peng
Mikey Rican Olivia Rodrigo-Dermody
Hattie Leonard was our team’s top scorer and high scorer in the written contest. Olivia Rodrigo–Dermody high scorer in the oral section and Elliott Muska high scorer in the group contest. Overall, the St. Anne team did very well
Just a reminder that we are not in school next Monday, November 11th as we remember all Veterans and their lives of dedication and service to keep our nation free.
Have a great week!
