Last Wednesday our community set sail… destination Bon Voyage Auction 2018.
A huge thank you to our Captains, Andrea and Nelson Nakata, who welcomed many First Officers and crew members (aka volunteers!) to their home for a wonderful evening of food, drinks and enthusiastic planning.
2018 will be Andrea and Nelson’s last year as parents at St Anne school – this will be their 20th auction! They have decided to chair this wonderful event and share their philosophy that the auction is more than a vital fundraiser – it is core to creating roots in our community.
As Nelson said, “The auction isn’t about us as individuals; it’s a lot bigger than that. The St. Anne community has always been there for us and will always be there for us, and that’s what this auction is all about. Yes, it’s a fundraiser but it’s also a community builder that brings all of us together. The auction makes our St. Anne community even stronger.”
So, look lively St Anne parents and friends – let’s get all hands on deck! There will be many upcoming volunteer opportunities to offer up your energy and time. We need everyone to keep building this wonderful community and to make this the smoothest sailing auction ever!
