Pre-Kindergarten
St. Anne School Pre-Kindergarten Program is designed to help four and five year old children acquire a strong foundation in the skills and knowledge needed for school success.
It is a developmental program where students work individually, in small groups, and with the entire class to develop cognitive/social/emotional skills.
Children are valued as unique individuals where their needs for attention, approval, and affection are supported.

Play-Based and Faith-Based
“Play is not frivolous. It enhances the brain’s structure and function and promotes executive function, which is the process of learning.”
– The American Academy of Pediatrics
Every Monday morning we gather as a school community in the gym for Prayer Assembly. It is a time when we discuss readings from that Sunday’s gospel, seasonal prayers or stories, and other happening within the school itself.
We incorporate faith in the classroom by introducing age appropriate ways for students to practice a prayerful heart- celebrating God’s gifts, singing, contributing a helpful hand when the opportunity arises, sharing in joyful moments, and learning that moments of stillness and quiet are ok.
Learning Exploration in Pre-K
Our day is filled with different opportunities for students to learn and grow critical thinking skills at their own pace. This may take place in classroom our outside! Most of our academic content is covered during our work time. Here, students can work on a variety of tasks- fine motor, language, writing, math, science, geography, and art. They can opt to work independently or as a group. Content may be presented to students in a variety of ways, whether that be a whole group digital letter lesson on the carpet, or a hands on small group math lesson using manipulatives. This a time, when parents can volunteer their time to come in and play games with students.

The Pre-Kindergarten curriculum follows Washington State guidelines and incorporates centers in numerous areas, such as:
