2024-25 School Theme: “Guide me in your truth and teach me.” –Psalm 25
Dear Families,
On Monday, our 5th grade class led a beautiful Prayer Assembly about the selection process for a new pope. As conclave begins Wednesday, we join Catholics all around the world as we pray for that process.
We wish to congratulate all those in our school and parish who received their First Communion on Sunday. It was a full church and beautiful Mass. Our prayers are with all of them.
Upper School Drama presentation of Godspell this week! The ensemble has worked hard to create this production for the community. They are presenting three performances of the show this week! All are welcome!
- Friday, May 9, 1:30pm
- Friday, May 9, 7pm
- Saturday, May 10, 2pm
Thanks to Ms. Kassebaum and the K-5th grade performers who presented their spring concert of showtunes last Friday. We heard wonderful student speakers who shared with us background on each song and wonderful singing performances by all. Thank you also to all the behind the scenes helpers! Thank you to Ryan Barber for filming. I will be forwarding to school families the video of the performance!
Staffing Update: We have been working diligently over the last month to interview and hire new staff to support our school programs.
- Abby Pana for our third grade classroom. She comes to us with positive recommendations and several years of experience teaching in Tennessee.
- Kaila Crosby for our fourth grade classroom. She has spent the last six years at St. Louise as their 4th grade teacher.
- Stephanie Fluckey for our 5th grade classroom. She comes with very strong recommendations from St. Luke School where she has been a substitute teacher and where her children attend.
- Benjamin Constantino as our Middle School Math teacher. He has many years of middle school math teaching experience in Spanaway, worked for the Washington Educators Association (WEA) for the last several years and has experience in leading First Robotics as an afterschool activity.
- Esperanza Salazar, as our new art teacher. She comes to us from Our Lady of Fatima where she has been teaching a number of years. A great opportunity for a job share between the schools!
We will continue to update you as we finalize our administrative staffing positions over the next couple of weeks.
On Friday, May 16, 5pm-7pm the Parent Association is sponsoring mini golf on the playground! In the model of our beginning of the year tailgate, the Parent Association is bringing in a mini golf course for all to enjoy. Save the date and start planning for this fun, family event. Thank you to the Barker and Isham families for chairing the event!
