2024-25 School Theme: “Guide me in your truth and teach me.” –Psalm 25
Dear Families,
Thanks to everyone for adapting to the late start on Wednesday and snow day on Thursday! And now we get to enjoy cold days with blue skies!
Monday was the feast day of St. Scholastica. At our Prayer Assembly, Ms. Earnst shared with us the story of St. Scholastica who serves as a symbol of the importance of education and learning in the service of God. She was born around 480. She joined a convent and her brother joined a monastery. They came together once per year at a central meeting area to talk and discuss important spiritual matters and support one another with prayer and conversation. Here is some of Ms. Earnst prayer: “…help us to keep Christ at the center of our learning, and remind us to reflect our devotion to God in our relationships with each other. With the support of all of our brothers and sisters in Christ, may we seek lives of love and service…” Our intention for the week can be to come together in dialogue and really listen to each other as we do our good work here at the school.
Congratulations to the St. Anne School Speech Team for coming in third place at the Seattle Prep Speech Tournament this last weekend. Twenty-three team members from St. Anne School competed in 33 events. This team continues to grow! All students did a great job preparing and being part of a strong team. This tournament saw several winners: Jack McGinnis, 1st in Dramatic Interpretation; Raphael Alvarez, 1st in Humorous Interpretation; Jules Stack, 2nd in Dramatic Interpretation; Theo Mello e Souza, 2nd in Ed Commentary; Liam Kelly, 3rd in Oratory; and finalist in their category: Christos Hatziantoniou, Aidan Onwuneme, Avery Baker and Conor Hession. A huge thanks to coach Myke Folger and thanks to all the parent coaches who organize and coach this team. Your work is appreciated.
