Empowering a New Century ☩ Faith, Learning & Service

Our Mission

The mission of St. Anne School, in partnership with parents and the parish family, is to provide a quality Catholic education that promotes educational excellence, fosters the living of Gospel values, builds Christian community and inspires compassionate service.

2024-25 School Theme: “Guide me in your truth and teach me.” –Psalm 25

Dear Families,

This last week saw the completion of Catholic Schools Week. For Parish Appreciation a delegation of students and staff brought thank you notes, plants and pastries to all the parish staff. Thursday was spent on Student Appreciation. In the afternoon, the gym was filled with cheering, poster-waving students for the The Eighth Grade versus Teachers Volleyball Game. We finished the day with popsicles and no homework. We have a school of wonderful students and are so grateful for them!. On Friday our First and Eighth grade students led us in a beautiful Mass for our Grandparents and Grandfriends. The halls of the school overflowed afterward with students and their guests sharing lunch and community time. This year we ended the meal with songs: Lower School Drama sang from “A Kids Life”, Fifth grade sang their US States song and the whole school sang our St. Anne Hymn. Thank you to all who helped make Catholic Schools Week a success.

At our Prayer Assembly on Monday, Mrs. Rain shared with us a reflection on Sunday’s Feast of the Presentation. This day marks the end of the forty day Christmas season. Here is some of what she shared: “The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord is a wonderful reminder that God is with us.  He is the Light that has come to dispel our darkness.  Moreover, we belong to Him and are His beloved children.  He came to save us, He loves us, and He always walks with us.” Mrs. Rain then guided us through praying a decade of the rosary together and reminding us that the Presentation of the Lord is the Fourth Joyful Mystery. This will help prepare us when we enter into our Lenten practice of praying a decade of the Rosary together daily.

SLE Lunch Winners: We had our drawing on Monday for this month’s SLE award winners. Congratulations goes to:

  • An Active Person of Faith: Grace R. (5th)
  • A Life-Long Learner: Evelyn N. (5th)
  • A Globally Aware Person: Luc C. (7th)
  • A Well Balanced Person: Blake F. (5th)

The Father/Daughter Dance on Sunday was a huge success.  Thank you to the host of volunteers who worked to make this event so successful! Every year this community event brings together families in a fun and joyful way!

Sickness in the School:  We are currently experiencing high levels of absence due to illness.  Please keep your child home if they have symptoms of illness. Students should stay home when sick until at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever or signs of a fever (chills, feeling very warm, flushed appearance or sweating) without use of fever-reducing medicine.

Archdiocesan Curriculum Day this Friday:  NO SCHOOL.  Teachers will be participating in a variety of classes as part of their professional development. The afternoon will be dedicated to work on our self-study.

Student Auction Photos have been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 11.  Please have students come to school in their uniform that day–no free dress passes should be used.

Valentine’s Week Bake Sale on Wednesday, Feb. 12:  This year the middle school Celtic Pride elective is sponsoring and running a Valentine’s Week Bake Sale to raise money for the California Wildlife Relief Fund. On Feb. 12, students will get an opportunity to buy baked treats like cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes or rice crispy treats at their lunch. Parents will need to help younger students by helping them organize money to bring in for the sale. Please ensure they bring exact change. Stay tuned for more details about the event from the Celtic Pride committee.
