2024-25 School Theme: “Guide me in your truth and teach me.” –Psalm 25

Dear Families,

The Middle School Spirit Elective team led our Prayer Assembly this week with a message about the unwavering strength of God’s love in our lives. And all our students can lean into this as they engage in working hard and learning here at school.

Move-a-Thon: What a successful Move-a-Thon!  It was a rainbow of colors that filled the gym as 8th graders led the warm up to this year’s Move-a-Thon. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out and helped with logistics.  And thank you to all the parents who came out, lined the course and cheered on all the students.  Over the next week students will finish getting their donations from family and friends turned in and we will announce the results at our Prayer Assembly on October 28!

SLE Lunch Winners:  We had our first SLE drawing of the year at Prayer Assembly last week!  To support awareness of our Student Learning Expectations (SLEs), each month we have a drawing for students to receive a pizza lunch with the principal and vice principal.  Throughout the month teachers submit a student name for a specific SLE when they observe them doing something that exhibits an SLE quality.  Then at our Prayer Assembly, we take all the submissions that were collected throughout the month, draw four names and announce the winners. And all the students were from the first grade!  Thank you to the first grade for being such great leaders! Congratulations to our winners:

  • Active Person of Faith:  Eloise T
  • Lifelong Learner: Colston T
  • Well Balanced Person: Aislinn J
  • Globally Aware Person: John F

Midterms sent home today:  Fourth through eighth grade students are bringing home their midterms today.  This is a snapshot of where students are in their learning.  Use it as an opportunity at this halfway point in the trimester to talk about learning goals with your students and allow them to reflect on their learning and growth in productive ways.

Conferences Next Week:  We will be scheduling conference times at our staff meeting on Wednesday and your scheduled conference times will be sent home this Friday in the youngest student’s backpack. We look forward to this opportunity to share student progress and dialogue about student learning needs and opportunities with you.

Extracurricular Opportunity–Christmas Eve Mass Choir:  Read this link to learn about how your second through eighth grade student can participate in this choir led by Mo Mershan. There are four rehearsals: Nov. 20, Dec. 4, 11 & 18.
