2024-25 School Theme: “Guide me in your truth and teach me.” –Psalm 25
Dear Families,
We will be celebrating Fr. Freitag’s birthday tomorrow with a Free Dress day for the whole school! Thank you Fr. Freitag, and Happy Birthday!
At our Prayer Assembly yesterday, Mrs. Rain shared some of Sunday’s Gospel reading. She made a connection to the sermon Fr. Freitag gave about how, just like Jesus had the Cross to bear, we also have sufferings and challenges to bear. And the message for us is that we can give Jesus our burdens when they feel too heavy. We can ask God for help. It could be as simple as asking for help with the challenge of doing our homework. We can ask Him to be with us. This reflection can help strengthen us for the challenges of our week.
Back to School Night: Thank you to all the parents who attended our Back to School Night last week. Fr. Freitag started us off with a warm welcome and prayer. We love this opportunity for the staff to share our overarching goals and plans for the school year. Visioning for the road ahead sets all of us up for success. Parents had a chance to hear all about some volunteer opportunities, hear about our theme, our programs, meet the staff, and learn about how to support their student(s). We look forward to our accreditation self-study year and continuing to gather input and support from all of you. And a huge thank you to the teachers for preparing thoughtful and informative classroom presentations for families.
School Safety–Let’s be Good Neighbors!
- Drive SLOW in the streets around our campus AND on our playground as you come for drop off and pick up. There is never a need to hurry in the car and risk the safety of our students.
- DO NOT park illegally and DO NOT park in “No Parking” spots.
- DO NOT block our neighbors garage doors or driveways even for a moment.
Fire Drill
- We had our first fire drill today. This was followed by doing an earthquake drill in classrooms.
- We will do fire drills once per month throughout the school year.
Don’t forget, the Fall Carnival is coming up on Friday, September 27 on the school playground from 5pm-8pm!
Regards,
Heidi
