5th Grade at NatureBridge!
April 30, 2024
Dear Families,
On Monday Mr. Haffey shared with us his reflections on the responsorial psalm refrain from Sunday Mass: “I will praise you, Lord, in the assembly of your people.” He shared with us how some of the most important things happen when we are together in community. In their exit interviews our eighth graders always highlight community activities as their most important memories: buddy classes, Family activities, retreats, Field Day, and Grandparents Day?
First Communion:One treasured community event this weekend was at Mass when many of our second graders received their First Communion. Congratulations to Bea, Ella, Johnny, Francisco, Weston, Ben, Anderson, Alice, Ernie, Alex, Joey, Charlotte, Mimi, Theo, Remy, Jensen and Kate on receiving this beautiful sacrament. And thank you to our 3rd grade families for hosting a cake reception in Banchero Hall afterwards.
Century Club Auction: We are also getting ready as a school community for our auction! This event raises much needed funds to balance our school budget. Thank you to all who donated, volunteered and will attend the event on Saturday evening at Fremont Studios.
- Silent Auction goes live tonight at 7pm!!!!
- Come preview the items on Friday: Silent Auction Preview Party 3-6pm in Banchero Hall. Check out some of the online silent auction items & use the QR codes to place bids, purchase items off the Teacher Wish Board, enjoy some adult & kid refreshments, and try your luck with kid ring toss. A fun start to our auction weekend!
Midterms went home today for 4th-8th!
- Midterms give a general overview of how a student is doing in each of their core classes.
- Please take the opportunity to review your student’s progress with them.
- If a student is struggling in a class, this is the opportunity to increase support and structure and get their learning back on track from now until the end of the school year.
Confirmation: Two weeks ago, several of our students and former students received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Congratulations to the following students: Sebastian de Villasante, Evelyn Downs, Max Dupuis, Hayden Jaeger, Reilly McDonagh, Nicolas Hedger Restrepo, Quinn Skillestad and Brock Tuminello. Our prayers are with all of you!
EF Bootcamp followup: Here is a short highlight of the learning from our “Planning and Prioritizing” executive function bootcamp this month. Take a quick moment to remind yourselves of these strategies that help our students learn. Mark your calendar now for our final session to be held on Wednesday, May 22 on “Attention and Motivation”.
Bookkeeper Opening: Please let me know if you know of anyone who might be interested in a part time bookkeeping job with St. Anne School!
Uniforms!
- Thank you for ensuring that your student comes to school in uniform.
- More shirts are being left untucked and many students’ skirts are noticeably too short. Students have grown and uniforms do not fit as well as they did at the beginning of the school year. Please take time to lengthen hems as needed or take time to get items that fit and meet the uniform requirements.
- Please check the Family Handbook for details on uniforms.
