Dear Families:
Welcome back! I hope you had a relaxing Easter break with your family. I can’t believe that we only have 8 weeks left in this school year (7 for our 8th graders).
It’s time to “MARVEL at the Possibilities”. Our annual auction takes place this coming Saturday and superhero energy is in the air. It is nice to have an auction that is a bit closer to our traditional event. Though we will be in a tent on the playground rather than in the gym, the excitement remains the same. Huge thanks to Ester Burkhart and Kim Tossman (along with husbands, Kevin and Sean) for all of their work imagining and organizing this year’s event. It is not to be missed!
At the Prayer Assembly yesterday, our auction chairs announced the winners of the classroom door decorating contest. Winners are: 1st place – Kindergarten, 2nd place – 5th grade and 3rd place- 8th grade. Every grade was recognized for their creativity, use of materials and enthusiasm in support of the auction. Also, a Superhero free dress was declared for this coming Friday. Students can dress as their favorite superhero – which includes anything from comic book characters to parents to teachers – all are superheroes! No need to buy any special costumes, imagination is all that is needed.
This coming Wednesday, April 27th from 2pm-5pm there will be an Auction Preview in Banchero Hall. All of the online and live auction items will be available for view. Come by and start making plans for your online bidding! The site opens at 7pm Tuesday (tonight) and will close during the Live auction on Saturday evening.
Planning to attend the gala event on Saturday evening? For the health and safety of all, we are asking attendees to take a rapid Covid test before arriving. No need to bring any proof to the auction, we just want to do whatever we can to protect our community.
Just before our Easter break, at our School Commission meeting, task forces working on the four pillars of our Five-Year Strategic Plan presented updates and recommendations based on their work this year. There has been much work done addressing the action steps from this year as well as tackling some that were not able to be accomplished during the Covid lockdown. Click here for the complete update.
Have a MARVEL-ous week!
Mary
