Dear Families:
Yesterday morning at our Advent candle lighting and Prayer Assembly, we began our extended Christmas pageant, allowing families to see their child/ren’s classes sing in-person. Though Covid has taken another of our favorite traditions, we can still have the pieces of the production performed over time. All classes are scheduled to see the entire performance, with half the school attending, on either Dec. 15th or 16th and a video link will be sent to all families for viewing at home.
Kuddos to Ms. Anna Vizzare in her first year as our music/drama teacher masterfully navigating all of the details and all of the changes to the production over the past few months. The 6th grade “stars” of the Christmas Carol play have been flexible and hardworking too. We can’t wait to get a chance to see the show.
As we hear more about the Omnicron variant of Covid there could be changes in some of our protocols. I know many families have made plans to travel during the Christmas holidays. Over the past year and a half, we have learned that things can change quickly, but as of TODAY, if traveling domestically and your child is fully vaccinated (two weeks after the second dose), he/she does not need to quarantine following travel. If traveling internationally, a covid test needs to be taken the day before boarding the flight returning to the US. I will update you asap if I learn of any further changes. Let’s pray that this variant can be kept at bay and that the vaccines are effective against it.
First trimester report cards are coming home with your child today. Please review, sign the envelope and return it to your child’s teacher. You only need to return the envelope, you can keep the report card. Feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns.
Tomorrow is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the school will be attending Mass at 8:45am. Please make sure your child arrives on-time for school to get to Mass with his/her class. Special thanks to our 3rd graders who will be participating as ushers, readers and gift bearers.
Have a great week!
Mary
