Dear Families:
I think we are finally beginning to see the light at the end of this long Covid tunnel. The numbers throughout King County are falling and with all of our students (except PreK) now being eligible for vaccines, I feel confident that this positive progress will continue. Many parents have reported that they have begun the two-dose vaccine regimen. I cannot thank our parents enough for their understanding and commitment to keeping all of our students and staff safe and healthy over these past 20 months. We still have a way to go, but I am praying that we can start to see some easing of restrictions sooner than later. In the meantime, please continue to practice Covid safety protocols. If you are on campus (even outside) remember that masks are required. Students need to see adults honoring the same requirements expected of them.
The holidays are quickly approaching and though I know it is too late for our younger students to be fully vaccinated in time for Thanksgiving travel, there is still enough time for them to be fully vaccinated by Christmas. I know this is a personal decision for your family and I respect anything you choose as far as Covid vaccines, but if you plan to travel and your child is fully vaccinated by January 3rd (two weeks following second dose) there is no need for her/him to quarantine following travel.
Here are links to the Covid Vaccine Clinic for 5-11year olds being held at Our Lady of Fatima in Magnolia on December 1st (first dose) and December 22nd (second dose). Feel free to get an appointment during the school day if it works for you. Lessons can be made up, appointments are hard to find and we want to support anyone trying to find a vaccine.

We are looking forward to our Christmas Pageant, “A Christmas Carol” starring our 6th graders with supporting songs by each class. As I explained last week, we want every class’ parents to get a chance to see their child sing in-person. Beginning December 6th, we will be following the attached schedule with a class performing each day, at our Advent Candle Lighting at 8:30am in Banchero Hall. Each student can have two people come to see their class perform. I wish we could invite all relatives and friends, but we have to restrict it to two per student each day. All classes will be able to watch the program over the course of two days and a video link will be sent to all families to watch the show in its entirety.
Just a reminder that due to the overwhelming success of the Move-a-thon, students have been awarded a free dress day this coming Friday, November 19th. They will also be given an ice cream treat as they leave school for the day.
Have a great week!
Mary
