Dear Families:
FANTASTIC GENEROSITY! That is just one of a number of superlatives that could be used to describe this weekend’s auction, “A Night in Havana at the St. Anna Cabana”. The bidding was beyond belief in both the two silent and the live auctions. Final numbers are still being calculated but we made over $220,000 for Fund It (Teachers and Technology) and grossed over $171,800 for the tangible items. We will have final numbers once all expenses are in.
The evening was a huge success due to the organization and celebratory attitude of our incredible auction chairs, Kathleen Gallagher and Becky Pelletier. They, along with Development Director, Monica Flora worked tirelessly to welcome a smaller than usual group to an in-person event as well as providing a high quality live streamed experience that allowed those from home to participate as well. It was a great night all around.
Special thanks to Ryan Barber for producing our Fund It video this year. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, here is a link for you to view. He had many teachers and parents with tears in their eyes as he showed the resilience and stamina of our teachers (and students) during this most unusual year.
Thank you to our entire community for your unending support. I know I speak on behalf of all of our staff and students in expressing how grateful we are to be part of such a giving and supportive community.
Please join us tomorrow evening, Wednesday, May 13th for the fifth grade’s presentation of the Night of the Notables. The students have spent months researching a person who has made a significant contribution to society through accomplishments in science, philanthropy, peace, social justice and/or equality. They will appear in the costume of their Notable and be available to answer questions about his/her life. To maintain Covid safety protocols, the event will be held starting at 6:30pm, outdoors in the PreK parking lot (next to Banchero Hall).
Finally, the lower and upper school drama groups will be presenting a movie version of their musicals, “The Show Must Go Online” and “Super Happy Awesome News” this coming Saturday at 3:30pm and 6:30pm on the school playground. Register here to be assured a reserved seat for your family. See the post below for further information.
Have a great week!
Mary
