Dear Families:
What an amazing auction weekend! It truly shows what a special community we have at St. Anne School. Thank you! From the zoom Family Night to the Saturday night “gala” with live auction items and videos, all of you came forward to support our school. Seeing the faces of our students and families makes all of the teachers and staff miss everyone so much more. Huge thanks to Becky Pelletier and Kathleen Gallagher (with lots of support from Ashley Rossman and Monica Flora) who made the two evenings such an overwhelming success. Numbers are being finalized and Monica will have them for us soon. Your invoices will be emailed to you by the end of the week with instructions for payment and pick-up of items. Thanks to all for your unbelievable support!
With the governor’s announcement this past Friday of the extension of the stay at home order through May, our hopes of being able to bring even small groups of students together is fading. We are now in full planning mode for how to remotely hold many of our springtime traditions. Details will be coming in the weeks ahead but we are still planning to have Night of the Notables, a virtual Field Day, (with Families planning sessions), 7th grade leadership retreat, Bump-Up Day and the 8th grade retreat, first grade “Buddy” recognition, Affirmations, Grad video and Graduation. We have rescheduled the Talent Show for November 19th. We will celebrate this year, even if we can’t do it the way we want!
To prepare for the next month of remote school, the teachers would like to get some additional materials to students. Next Monday, May 11th we are having a “Materials Pick-Up” day. Families will be asked to pull up in front of Banchero Hall on Lee St. to pick up the envelope or bag left by their teacher. Classroom aides will be assisting.
In order to not be over-run, we are asking families to adhere to the following schedule:
If your last name begins with:
A-G please come between 8:30am and 10:30am
H-P please come between 10:30am – 12:30pm
Q-Z please come between 12:30pm and 2:30pm
Though we would like to let students, individually, come into the building to get items that they may have left in lockers and desks, we’ll have to wait on that. No students are allowed in the building through May.
Finally, this week is Teacher Appreciation Week (and Mother’s Day). Our teachers felt very appreciated by parents through the gift of the delicious auction dinners. I have a couple of other surprises in store for them, but we truly want to appreciate YOU! The success of our online learning has so much to do with your willingness to step in and be the “Covid” teacher to your children. We all know how stressful it has been, but I know I speak for all of our teachers when I express how lucky we are to have you supporting our program. Give yourself a big pat on the back for your efforts. And for you mother’s out there, hopefully, your Mother’s Day will be full of relaxation, appreciation and lots of love from your children!
Have a great week!
