Dear Families:
Once again, I want to thank you for your patience with our weather last week. Hopefully, it is the last we will see of the white stuff in the lowlands. One change that we are making in our “Snow/Emergency closure” policy is to not close PreK if we are facing a 10:00am start. Though the little ones would be here just over a couple of hours, Mrs. Mastrobattisa is happy to have them. We found that it was hard on the PreK students when an older sibling was jumping out of the car to go to school and they were told there was no school for them. It is completely up to the parents whether to send their PreK child to school or not. Mrs. Mastrobattista will not be introducing anything new, just reviewing concepts with the students who are able to attend. We will announce it as a “Modified PreK session” instead of “No PreK” when sending the notification through our automated system. Hopefully, this will keep our littlest students happy. They were so excited to be back last Thursday after missing the first half of the week!
Thank you to so many of you who contributed to the “Mrs. Peterson Corner”! The generosity of this community is overwhelming and we are so appreciative. Over $2600 has been raised. We are currently looking at designs and plans for the special corner and hope to have it done by spring. We miss Mrs. Peterson every day and having a special place to honor her memory will be good for all of us.
Next week marks, Catholic Schools’ Week where we join over 6,200 schools across the nation in celebrating the gift of Catholic education. We have plenty of activities planned beginning with our Catholic Schools’ Week Mass at 10:00am on Sunday, January 26th. Any student who wears their uniform to Mass can stop by their classroom during Open House for a free dress pass. And on Monday morning at our Prayer Assembly we honor you…our parents, for all you do to help us achieve so much. Stop by the lobby of Banchero Hall beginning at 8:10am to grab a “Thanks a Latte”. Baristas will be on hand to customize your order. Then join us for our Prayer Assembly as we celebrate you, our parents.
Catholic Schools Week is always fun-filled, with days devoted to celebrating those who make St. Anne School successful. From parents, parishioners and grandparents, to the Queen Anne community and our students, we appreciate the efforts put forth by all.
Finally, save the date and plan to attend the “State of the School” on Wednesday, January 29th at 7:00pm, with a repeat session on Tuesday, February 4th at 8:30am in the Assembly Room of the church. Re-enrollment packets will be distributed at that time and you will hear valuable information about our programs, progress on our Accreditation goals and 2020-25 Strategic Plan.
Have a great week!
