It’s been just over a month since our beloved teacher, colleague and friend, Bev Peterson, passed away after a valiant five-month battle with esophageal cancer. She was such a huge part of our St. Anne community and we miss her and feel her presence every day. If you’ve spent any time over the past 9 years at the school you probably saw her working with small groups of children outside the PreK classroom. She would read to them, work on art projects, teach a social/emotional lesson or help a young one deal with ways to work with classmates. Over the past month as we walked by the small corner where she spent so much time, we thought of a way to honor her memory. We would like to transform the area to the “Mrs. Peterson’s Corner”. We would like to buy new furniture, books, pillows, etc., add a quote and a plaque to the wall to give all of us a space to remember her. If you would like to donate to the Mrs. Peterson’s Corner, please send donations in any amount to the school office or contribute online here. Checks can be made out to St. Anne School.
Today, your child brought home his/her first trimester report card. The grades are meant to communicate progress up to this point in the year. This is a great time for you to sit down with your child and reflect on growth and set new goals for the second trimester. We are really excited for all of the learning opportunities ahead for our students throughout the remainder of this year.
Please join us this Thursday morning, December 12th at 8:45am for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and our all-school Mass. The fourth graders have been working on preparing the readings and responses reminding us of the Virgin Mary’s appearance to Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill outside of Mexico City in 1531. Please join us.
Finally, a reminder that the parish is in the final phase of collecting Stewardship Giving pledges for the year ahead. If you have not filled out your Stewardship card, (required to be updated yearly, for those receiving in-parish tuition) please do so today. Cards are available in the school office or click here to do so online. Please save the parish the trouble of having to follow up directly with you.
Have a great week!
