Dear Families:
We made it through the first week of school! It was a great week of getting re-acquainted, learning new class schedules and getting back into our normal school routines. Everyone seems happy to back.
We ended our week with a beautiful celebration at our Back-to-School Mass of the Holy Spirit on Friday morning. In his first school Mass, Fr. Colin used the example of Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series, comparing her endlessly expanding purse to how the Holy Spirit fills our hearts. No matter how much we seek from the Holy Spirit, the love in our hearts is capable of endless expansion. All we need to do is pray to the Holy Spirit. Thank you to Mrs. Austin and students from various grades for their preparation and participation in the liturgy.
Nothing makes it feels more like fall than the arrival of Seahawk season, CYO Soccer, Cross Country and Tailgating! Last Friday evening the Parent Association held a wonderful Welcome Back Tailgate party on the playground. It was a terrific way to kick-off the new school year with barbequed hamburgers, hotdogs, side-dishes and desserts, all on a warm, summer-like evening. Thank you to Alitha Regalia for organizing this marvelous event. She had a great team of helpers who assisted with set-up, cooking and clean-up. A fun event all around!
Please join us, this Thursday, September 12th at 7:00 pm in Banchero Hall for our Back-to-School Night. We will start with a general session and then proceed to individual classroom presentations. This evening is a wonderful opportunity to be an active participant in your child’s education. You will have time to meet your child’s teacher, hear about his/her curriculum and get answers to any questions you might have. There will be two sessions for those of you who have more than one child. We hope to have you on your way home no later than 8:30pm. Doors will open at 6:45pm for you to arrive early and visit our volunteer tables. You can learn more about volunteer opportunities, events and ways to get involved.
Please remember that this evening is for parents only. There is simply not enough room in the classrooms for both parents and students to be present. Children are welcome, however, to join us for our Open House on January 26, 2020.
Have a great week!
