What a fabulous Talent Show we had last Thursday. Students from every class sang songs, played musical instruments, danced, and even displayed works of art, including a video demonstration of baking a cake! Thank you to all of the students who participated and to Mrs. Mills, Mrs. Nenninger and the backstage crew for a well-run show. It was inspiring to watch the support shown by the students as each act was presented. Applause, cheering and smiles were all around!
Congratulations to our second graders who made their First Eucharist on Sunday. It was a beautiful ceremony and so touching to watch their reverence as they received Communion for the first time. Please join us, (and them) at our May Crowning Mass at 8:45am on Thursday, May 23rd. They are preparing and participating in the Mass and crowning ceremony.
Last Tuesday evening we had our final School Commission meeting of the year. It gave us a chance to say thank you and good-bye to members whose terms are expiring and to welcome our new members. Please join me in thanking Lisa Middlebrook and Catherine Porciuncula who have completed their three-year terms. Catherine, with her development and fundraising background has shared many ideas about approaches to improve our advancement efforts. Lisa, served as a member of our Programs task force for our previous Strategic Plan and has given valuable input in the areas of World Language and Technology education. Both have each put a great deal of effort into improving our school and we can’t thank them enough for all they have done.
New members to the School Commission who are beginning three-year terms are Dylan Jackson (father of Emmett, 5th grade) and Lori Roozen, (mother of Nina, 3rd grade, Harry, 1st grade and Max, PreK). The leadership of Dylan and Lori will be invaluable, especially as we enter the creation of our next Five Year Strategic Plan.
Did you know that you can pay your Annual Fund pledge through FACTS? St. Anne families already have a FACTS account set-up for monthly tuition payments so no additional paperwork is needed. By signing up for this option, you don’t have to receive monthly reminders or remember to make a payment. The donation is amortized over ten months thus avoiding the challenge of a one-time payment. Please consider this option. The Development Office will do the work for you. Just contact Monica Flora and say, “Sign me up for FACTS.” It’s that easy!
Just a reminder that next Monday, May 27th we have no school in honor of Memorial Day. We take this day to remember soldiers and their families who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Please take a moment to remember them in your prayers.
Have a great week!
