The red carpet was rolled out and movie and television stars showed up to shower our school with support! “Hollywood Nights” was a tremendous success and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity. We had amazing items, delicious food, fabulous decorations and a star-studded cast to make the blockbuster a marquee event. Special thanks to our incredible “Directors”, co-chairs, Alison DeGregorio, Kris Lund and Kristi Street for putting together a supporting crew of volunteers who worked tirelessly over the past few months, all in support of our students. All involved deserve an Academy Award for best production ever!
The Fund It! video was amazing. We have such talented students and an even more talented writer/director/videographer, Mark Jones (father of 8th grader, Apollo). Mark and Kim Lukens were the brains and the brawn behind the idea, writing the script, directing and filming the students and editing the final version. Following touching remarks by alums Mike and Joe Vizzare, along with NBA player and alum, Spencer Hawes on the importance of a high-quality floor for so many events, the video sealed the deal and Fund It raised over $170,000! The gym floor replacement is scheduled to begin on June 17th. We can’t wait to see the beautiful new floor.
Our 2019-20 school year calendar is now available. For future reference, it is posted on our website under “Admissions” then “Important Dates”. The calendar includes general dates and vacations. A comprehensive listing of important dates (auction, school Masses, First Eucharist, Parent Association events etc.) will be available in late April.
Next Monday, April 8th is picture day. Students are to wear their uniforms for the pictures. The class pictures along with extra-curricular group pictures are used for the yearbook. Copies of the class pictures (and individual head-shots) can be ordered directly through Kids Photography.
Tomorrow evening, Wednesday, April 3rd, the School Commission will be hosting the parish Soup Night and Stations of the Cross. Please join us outside the Assembly Room of the church to enjoy a variety of soups from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Stations of the Cross begin at 7:00pm and typically last 20min. or so. It is a wonderful time to spend with family and our parish community as we are at the half-way point on our Lenten journey toward Easter.
This coming Thursday, April 4th we will be having an all-school Mass, hosted by the 6th grade at 8:45am in the church. Please make plans to join us.
Finally, this coming Friday, April 5th is “March Madness” Favorite College Team Free Dress day. Even if your favorite team didn’t reach the Final Four (poor ZAGS!) or even the NCAA playoffs, students are welcome to wear the colors or logo wear from a favorite team. No need to buy anything special, just honor the colors of the team.
