Accreditation
Last Friday, we had our five-member Accreditation team here for the pre-visit. The team met with the chair, received the self-study documents, had a student-led tour of the school, and received their assignments in preparation for the three-day site visit on November 7th, 8th and 9th. At the end of the day the faculty and staff had the opportunity to meet with the team for introductions. They were very positive about the time they had spent in the school, especially the tour. We are excited to take the next step in this very important school improvement process and hope to receive the full six-year term of accreditation once their report has been approved by the WCEA Commissioners next spring.
Move-a-thon
Time to get movin’! This week we have our annual Move-a-thon and the weather is calling for sunshine! At the Prayer Assembly each Monday, the students have been hearing about healthy eating, the importance of exercise and answering trivia on teachers’ exercise habits. This Thursday at 1:30, we will kick-off the fun. We will begin in Banchero Hall with announcements and our warm-up exercise before we head out to “move” for one hour. Please join us. Contact Monica Flora – mflora@stannesea.org if you can volunteer. We can always use extra hands and extra voices to cheer on the “movers”.
Christ in the Classroom Inservice
This Friday, October 12th there is no school for our students as teachers and staff will spend the day concentrating on the “Christ in the Classroom” foundational retreat as part of our on-going Catechetical Certification. We will be focusing on the great mysteries of our Catholic faith: Incarnation, Trinity, the Paschal Mystery and the Eucharist. We will examine how our vision of Catholic education, that is rooted in the Scriptures and Traditions, is lived in service to our school community.
Safe Environment Class
Finally, if you have not taken the “Protecting God’s Children (for adults)” class, (required of all volunteers) we are hosting a class in Banchero Hall tomorrow night at 6:00pm. You must go online to pre-register. No one will be allowed to register at the door. Currently, there are only 10 spots remaining before the class is full.
Have a great week!
