Dear Families:
What a wonderful day we had last Friday at our annual Field Day! I am sure you had some exhausted children come home after their very active day. The weather was perfect as a cool, overcast morning gave way to bright sunshine in the afternoon.
We were so impressed with the 8th grade leaders and how well they helped with their “Family”. They were supportive, encouraging and caring. It really contributed to a fabulous day. Thank you also to all of the parent volunteers who spent much of their day helping with stations, preparing and cleaning up lunch, monitoring the playground, cheering on teams, or providing any support needed. We continue to be blessed by your generosity of time.
We are heading into the final stretch – only 8 days to go! I marvel at the generosity of this community and all that is done to support the school and our students. There are many, many unsung heroes who give of their time and talent and ask for nothing in return. They are here to help make our school a success and to give our students every opportunity. So many fall into this category that I would be remiss in trying to name them. You know who you are. You are the Room Parents, Coaches, the ones who organize Scrip or Logo-wear; you help in classrooms, drive on field trips, judge at the Science Fair, and provide snacks for faculty meetings and classroom parties. You serve on School Commission or our Strategic Plan Task Forces; you give hours to our fundraisers, spending days and evenings away from your family to help raise money to keep tuition costs down; you make costumes for the Christmas program, prepare the graduation dinner or reception, help create our yearbook, organize after-school programs, chaperone Middle School dances and help with our Catholic Schools Week activities….and so much more. We can never thank you enough for your gift of volunteerism. All of us benefit in so many ways from your efforts. Thank you!
This week we say good-bye to another wonderful class of 8th graders. Please join us this Thursday, June 7th at 5:00pm for our Graduation Mass (reception following) as we say good-bye to this very bright and hardworking group of students. They have been a joy to watch mature into such fine young men and women and we wish them all of the best as they head to high school.
A huge thank you to the 5th grade Junior Girl Scouts who are working toward a bronze level award. They have weeded, composted and planted a pollinator garden on the east side of the building. Each girl has put in hours of work and the result is beautiful. Thanks also to their troop leader, Samantha Stack for organizing the efforts of the troop.
Finally, congratulations to the amazing St. Anne Track team who placed 2nd in the City Championship this past weekend. In addition, they brought home the girls overall champions trophy and the 6th grade girls championship. Most impressive of all, our team was awarded the CYO Spirit of Athletics trophy for spirit, sportsmanship and the substantial level of volunteerism by our parents. Great job by all!
Have a great week!
