What a wonderful Science Fair we had last week. From a pop-up chicken petting zoo (using the chickens from a 7th grader’s project), to “Blood Pressure Mania” to “Recycle that Scat” the evening event was a great showcase of the imagination, creativity and scientific minds present in our students. Click here for a list of all of the winning projects. Special thanks to Jose Gude, Fletcher Ernst, Tim Largen, Lisa Middlebrook, Nelson Nakata and Jim Vanderslice for spending their day judging the projects.
This coming Thursday, March 15th, our Irish eyes will be smiling as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The Spirit Committee has proclaimed a Green and White free dress day and the dancers from Tara Academy will be present at 8:30am to start our day off with Irish music and dancing. Please join us!
All hands on deck! Final preparations are underway for the launch of our Bon Voyage online auction. The online portion opens tomorrow, Wednesday at 7pm.
The main event is only ten days until final boarding, so make sure your tickets have been reserved and your cruise attire selected. Most importantly, don’t forget to pack your wallet. You won’t want to miss out on the wonderful duty-free items for bid. It’s smooth sailing ahead with the benefit of our students as the final destination!
Just a reminder that this Friday, March 16th, there is no school for students due to the Regional Curriculum Development Day. The teachers will be staying on-site to continue the valuable work on our Accreditation Self-Study. The faculty and staff have dedicated hours evaluating our programs in anticipation of completing this historical document.
Ron Ryan is doing very well as he enters his next chemo session. This week, he will be receiving a second round of treatment and we hope he continues to handle the medication well. Please keep him in your prayers. Students have been sending him cards, pictures and well wishes that brighten his day.
Have a great week!
